Brother Rob Tuck, educator, author & poet will lead the discussion for the 2nd session in this series.
This February, the Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library, in partnership with the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Westfield, and the Westfield Memorial Library, are proud to be celebrating Black History Month with a vibrant month-long initiative focusing on Americans Who Tell the Truth (AWTT) as relating to the Black Experience. The program incorporates 14 selected portraits of individuals who showed the courage to identify and address fundamental issues such as environmental justice, civil rights and other global and local concerns. These portraits are paired with themed discussions led by local New Jersey leaders in their field. The weekly discussions will take place at 7:00 pm in the Westfield Memorial Library Community Meeting Room. All discussions are open to the public with pre-registration required by contacting the library at 908-789-4090 ext. 0 or registering online at www.wmlnj.org. All the portraits will be on display in the meeting room of the Westfield Memorial Library throughout the month.
