2024 Spring Book Sale

In our 49th Year, the 2024 Spring Book Sale is sure to be one to remember. Our Volunteers make the sale such a great success. Led by our chairs, Amy Berman, Michele Martin, Laura Skidmore and Audrey Zavetz,  join this dedicated group of people to host a beloved annual event for the Westfield community.  To learn more or sign up to volunteer click here.

Our sale is special because it starts and ends with all of you (including many of our volunteers too).  We welcome your donations (how we amass our amazing inventory) on specific Donation Days. Once the book sale is set up you can SHOP for great reads (on a variety of  topics for ALL ages). Special sale days include – 50% off for Teachers 4/25 & 26, 50% for everyone 4/27 and Bag Day on 4/28. Donation Days (4/17-4/20)

Wednesday, April 17 @ 10 am – 3 pm
Thursday, April 18 @ 10 am – 3 pm
Friday, April 19 @ 10 am – 12 pm
Saturday, April 20 @ 10 am – 1 pm

Please drop off by the book drop box by the side of the library parking lot. Book & CD/DVD donations are tax deductible & benefit the Westfield Memorial Library. Kindly no textbooks, magazines, VHS tapes, damaged books or encyclopedias.

Sale Days (4/24 – 4/28)

Wednesday, April 24 from 5 pm – 8 pm:  FRIENDS MEMBERS PREVIEW SALE – Memberships available for ($35) to enter the sale.
Thursday, April 25 from 10 am – 8 pm: TEACHERS 1/2 PRICE
Friday, April 26 from 10 am – 4 pm: TEACHERS 1/2 PRICE
Saturday, April 27 from 10 am – 4 pm: HALF PRICE DAY 
Sunday, April 28 from 1 pm – 3 pm: BAG DAY (For $10, buy a bag and fill it up with books)

Books from babies to children and teens – adults in almost every topic. Our fiction selection will span – softcover, trade and hardcover. Our non-fiction will cover everything from art to business, gardening to sports, biographies to cooking, history to science and more. Come to browse and be surprised at how much you find.

All remaining books get donated.

Volunteers (4/17 -4/30)

Our team of people work a variety of jobs during a variety of hours to set up and support the book sale. We also welcome and approve community service hours. Our jobs include:

Room Set Up – Organize the room and get the bookcases and tables ready for books.

Triage – Access the condition of the donations and high level organize the books for the sorters.

Sorting/Shelving – Sort the books according to topic and put them on the assigned shelves.

Floor Support – Assist customers looking for books and topics. Keep books organized and restock when needed.

Cashier – Review book counts & amount with customers upon checkout, receive payment, make change & offer high level membership and Friends information.

Take Down – Box leftover books, clean up room and help to move tables and bookcases to designated locations.
