The Friends is a 100% volunteer group that exists to enhance the library and to serve the library community. Through membership dues and fundraising efforts, the Friends enable the library to provide programs, materials and furnishings that make our library special. Becoming a member of the Friends is an opportunity to meet book-minded folks, explore culture and give back to the community. In recent years the Friends have funded:

  • Native Seed Library
  • Lucky Day Book Collection
  • Museum Key – The online reservation app allows you to reserve tickets up to 30 in advance for all 20 Museum in the Museum Pass Program
  •  NJ Maker’s Day for Westfield  – A fun STEM filled day of activities for children and adults
  • A painting renovation to enhance the Children’s Area Entrance in addition to $25,000 to refurbish the library’s youth services area.
  • New carpeting throughout the library and an upgraded new computer/sound system in the Community Meeting Room.
  • Addition of new Kindle e-Readers to expand the Kindle lending program.
