Friends’ Kenneth S. Gaston Award presented to Deborah Bailey

On September 8, at the September Board meeting of the Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library, board member Mike Miller presented Deborah Bailey with the Kenneth S. Gaston Award. Debbie is a longstanding member of the Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library and has served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and as the organization’s Treasurer for more than a decade. She is the financial steward of not only the Friends, but also the Hale Speaker Series and the Frances Hallada Fund. If her volunteer efforts were limited to the Friends, Debbie’s contribution to the Westfield community would merit recognition, but she also serves other organizations, such as the Miller-Cory House and Mobile Meals of Westfield. Her dedication to serving her community, as well as her warm personality and sense of humor, make Debbie a friend of not only the Library but to all who are fortunate enough to know her.

The Kenneth S. Gaston Award was created in memory of a past board of trustee of the library. The award recognizes and honors significant service to the Westfield via the Friends of the Westfield Memorial Library.
