Membership

The Friends is a 100% volunteer group that exists to enhance the library and to serve the library community. Through membership dues and fundraising efforts, the Friends enable the library to provide programs, materials and furnishings that make our library special. Becoming a member of the Friends is an opportunity to meet book-minded folks, explore culture and give back to the community. Please join us this year and help us provide the programs and essentials that make your library special. Your tax-deductible contribution will help provide:

  • Annual donations to the library to help with the purchase of equipment, furnishings and materials
  • Winter Saturday morning children’s programs
  • Present the Hale Speaker Series featuring speakers connected to Westfield
  • Furnish our 7 Little Free Libraries – around town
  • Scholarships Provide financial support for students in library or media related courses and continuing education for library staff
  • Service – Awards to Westfield Resident High School Seniors interested in library science, literature or writing
  • Books-on-Wheels (delivering books/CDs/DVDs to home bound residents)
  • Sharing the Warmth a knitting/crocheting group for charitable causes
  • Museum Pass Program–FREE passes to visit 28 museums in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania –  one of the largest and best in the state
  • A Book Discussion Group – Read and discuss books from current fiction to non-fiction interests.
  • Black History Month program
  • International Women’s Day program
